Latest figures from Scottish Provident

Scottish Provident, one of the leading life insurance providers in the UK, show that over half of all the life insurance pay outs last year were to the families of policyholders who had died under the age of 55.

The most shocking revelation of all is that less than 15% had a Will or Trust in place.

This will mean in many cases that the crucial life insurance payout will now be subject to inheritance tax at 40%, partners who were not married will not receive anything and children will in many cases not live where the deceased would have wished.
