Euthanasia in Spain
Many people do not realise that euthanasia has been legal in Spain since June 25th 2021
The following are the rules surrounding the implementation of this instruction.
The individual must:
Be of legal age and have full mental capacity at the time of instruction or, if unable to communicate at that time, have previously, while having mental capacity, completed an Advance Directive and had that document legally registered.
Be a Spanish national or be legally resident in Spain or the Spanish territory
Be suffering from an incurable disease or a serious, chronic, and disabling condition that is causing intolerable suffering
